Passive Seismic Survey Project
Seismotech was awarded the first phase of another passive seismic survey in Assam, in NE India. The scope is the illumination of the subsurface below the Sonari-Safrai and the Digboi-Kusijan Blocks operated by OIL down to a depth of 10km. The main network consists of 400 stations covering an area of approximately 1,000 km2. However, with the addition of several peripheral stations, this coverage extends to 5,000 km2. Data collection for the first phase commenced on March 8, 2025, and will continue for another three months, coinciding with the monsoon season, which has already begun. Upon completion of data collection, expected in June 2025, and the subsequent submission of results in August 2025, Oil India will make a decision regarding the initiation of the project's second phase, which is projected to last for eight months
