Passive Seismic Survey Project

Seismotech was awarded the first phase of another passive seismic survey in Assam, in NE India. The scope was the illumination of the subsurface below the Sonari-Safrai and the Digboi-Kusijan Blocks operated by OIL down to a depth of 10km.

The main network consisted of 400 stations covering an area of approximately 1,000 km2. However, with the addition of several peripheral stations, this coverage was extended to 5,000 km2. Data collection for the first phase commenced on March 8, 2025, and ended on June 5, 2025, coinciding with the monsoon season, which had already begun.

The completion of data collection followed the submission and the presentation of the highly promising results, on August 2025, with a view to awarding the second phase of the project.
