Passive Seismic Tomography Project

Project Area: approximately 1000km2

(4700km2 with the peripheral stations)

Seismic Network: 80 stations

Recording Period: 5 months

The scope of this project was the successful completion of a full Passive Seismic Tomography survey in Asmat – Papua, Indonesia, for subsurface mapping purposes and detection of possible hydrocarbon indications.

In order to do this, our acquisition team has installed and operated a network of 80 seismic stations in a very extreme environment, deep inside the Papuan jungle. Even though local seismicity was limited, this Passive Seismic Tomography project was successfully completed, providing to our client key information on the local geological setting.
