Successful completion of Phase I of the Passive Seismic Tomography (PST) Survey in North-East India awarded by OIL India!

Seismotech is proud to announce the successful completion of the first phase of a passive seismic survey in Assam, NE India. The project focused on illuminating the subsurface beneath the Sonari-Safrai and Digboi-Kusijan Blocks, operated by OIL, down to a depth of 10 km. This marks another milestone in our international exploration portfolio.

The survey deployed a dense network of 400 stations, expanding to 5,000 km² with peripheral units. Data collection began in March 2025 and coincided with the onset of the monsoon season, presenting significant logistical and environmental challenges. Despite adverse weather conditions and complex terrain, the team maintained full operational capacity throughout.

Preliminary results are highly promising, offering valuable insights into the deep geological structure of the region. These findings pave the way for further exploration and potential development. The project sets a strong foundation for the anticipated second phase.
